Bubble Time!!!

Last night Scott was in charge of giving Ryan a bath.  Ryan's new thing is to take a bath in "the BIG bath" which is our bathroom.  He wanted some bubbles so I pulled the bottle out for Scott and left the room to change McKenzie.

A couple minutes later I hear "mom, mom come here!"  When I walked back into the bathroom Ryan and Scott were laughing and covered in bubbles.  Scott said that he kept pouring and pouring and pouring the bubbles into the tub because there weren't very many bubbles.  Then, he decided there STILL was not enough bubbles so he turned on the jets.  Finally Ryan and Daddy got the bubbles they were wanting!!!

Ohhh, the fun we have with daddy!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday we went to a pumpkin patch with our good friends Courtney and Wes and their son Jackson. The boys had a great time trying to pick up all the pumpkins, jumping in the bounce house and riding the little train. At the end they even got to pick out their own pumpkin. We had a great time and look forward to doing it next year.

The Pirate Party

Today Ryan had his pirate birthday party and it turned out just as expected. Wild, crazy and fun all at the same time. Ryan enjoyed having all of his friends here celebrating with him. The kids got to go on a treasure hunt and at each station they received something that had to do with "Pirates". At the first station they had to walk the plank and got their eye patch. The next one they had to slide down the slide to get a telescope. They ran from one station to another after looking at the big treasure map Scott had and also received a whistle, a mask, a sword and finally they found the treasure. It turned out to be a fun day with beautiful weather. Once everyone sailed away on their ship Misty and I were looking for Ryan and Lilli and someone found them around the corner in the sand that the treasure was in. They were having their own sand party. They were a mess, but enjoyed every moment. McKenzie even got to dress as a little pirate with her tutu and bandanna. Yes.. baby pirates where tutu's. :)The day was wonderful and we were so thankful for everyone that came to enjoy this special day with us.

Happy Birthday Ryan!!!

I can't even believe my BABY is turning 3. I just look at him some days and am amazed at what the Lord has given us. He is so sweet with an amazing heart. This day three years ago I woke up at 4:30 a.m. feeling a lot of pressure. I got out of bed and my water "tore". (They are still not sure what happened) I called the doctor and they said to come in just to check and see what was going on. My due date wasn't for another 9 days so I figured this would just be a trip to the hospital and right back home. Scott was so excited he could hardly stand it. The house was a mess, laundry was everywhere and I had greasy hair. Of course I was going to get everything together that day. We got to the hospital and checked into the triage room which if you have been there is the smallest room ever, but Scott was a trooper and squished himself between the wall and the bed to sit down. They told me to lay there for an hour to see if I dilated anymore. An hour later I was having major contractions and was praying they wouldn't send me home. We got into a delivery room and I told them that I didn't need the epidural just yet that I could handle it. 5 minutes later my water broke and just by the look on my face the nurse knew it was time for drugs. The labor went so well. We were able to enjoy it all without any pain. I pushed for an hour and at 2:59 p.m. Ryan Allen Rogers (The Rocket) was born. I still remember the feeling I had when I saw and held him for the first time. There are no words to explain the joy you get when you finally see your child. I have now said many times I would LOVE to go back to that moment just for one day and hold Ryan again being so little. Now that he is 3 I barley get to snuggle him at all. The last 3 years have been an adventure. He has taught us so much just as he has learned so much. Rocket is a nickname my dad gave him before he was even born and who knew it would fit him so well. He is so full of energy and life that he seems to truly enjoy the things that he is doing and the people that he is doing it with. Ryan has never met a stranger. He will go up to little kids in the store and at the park and ask if they would like to play with him. You can tell this little boy loves life. At times his heart is filled with such kindness that is so precious. Ryan has always loved to pick me flowers so one day leaving school there was a little flower blowing in the wind and a little girl picked it up. He began saying in a loud voice , so she could here him from across the way, "Give that flower to my mom, give that flower to my mom." I had to explain to him that her mom was going to get that flower and that was an ok thing. He told me one day as I was getting him out of the car "Mommy I will always love you." Wow!!! What a special little boy he is and he will always be our little boy.

Under Constuction

As most of you know Scott is a wonderful handy man when it comes to certain things. He LOVES to build and fix things. It is a mystery to him that he enjoys to solve. When I was pregnant with Ryan he wanted to build his crib and I convinced him that we should leave that to the professionals....not that he wasn't a professional....:) So for about a year now Ryan has been obsessed with pirates and anything to do with pirates. He told the lady in Old Navy the other day that he was going to have a pirate party and have green teeth and eat dirty meat. I promise I am not serving dirty meat or any meat for that matter at his party. So it all started with our sweet friend Stephanie Martin. We were over at their house for the super bowl party and pregnant and tired I was ready to go home. So since the guys had to finish the game I plopped down on the chair thinking we still had to bathe Ryan and get him into bed and I just didn't think I had the energy. Sweet Stephanie saw this desperation in my eyes and began to read all three boys (she has two boys) a pirate book......that is where Ryan's interest in pirates began....Stephanie then bathed them all and even let us barrow some PJ's so that all this prego girl had to do when we got home is lay him in the bed....thank you Steph!!! Anyway, ever since then he has taken Scott's socks and shirts and dressed himself up to be a pirate....so this is where the pirate party comes from. We have an old hammock stand and Ryan always sits on it saying it is his ship. My dad had suggested that if Scott wanted to he would help him make it a ship for his party. Scott loved the idea and took it further then we thought of course. Scott always says if he is going to do something he is going to do it right. So he got some wood and nails and began construction on the ship. My dad came over and was amazed at what he had done and was laughing saying that he was only thinking of some chicken wire and some fabric or something.....not Scott you give him a project and he runs with it. Thank you to Scott's dad and my dad for your helping hand in the constuction process. Hopefully it will be done in time for his party, but here is the beginning of the ship. The finish product will be here soon.

Fair Day!!

On Monday my parents and I took the kids to the fair and had a blast. I have never seen Ryan SO happy to ride on the rides. He got so excited and kept saying " I will ride that one, then that one, then that one" and since mommy is not made of money he settled for four rides and it was all worth the money just to see his face. When we got there it was a little rainy so we bundled up in our raincoats and trucked along. It was almost as though we had the whole place to ourselves. The rain kept people away which made it less crowded and kept the sun away which made it nice and cool. As the day went on it turned out to be a beautiful perfect day at the fair. Well almost perfect we all miss Daddy....He was at work making the money for all those rides...thank you Scott for working so hard for us. We look forward to going next year....with daddy

What the heck is this?? This is what you people come to the fair to eat? Where's my bottle?
